Major Initiatives

■Actively hiring foreign employees.
(Results of last five years: 28 employees, nationalities: China, Russia, Korea, Italy, Indonesia.)

■Gender and nationality are not factors in the hiring process.
 Female employees with children are also actively involved in management (five employees) and sales positions.

■Reduced working hours.
 The reduced working hour system was introduced to help employees balance work with childcare, nursing care, and child-rearing.

WELFARE PROGRAM

Long Service Award

In operation since 1981

This award system recognizes employees who have worked for the company for many years (5, 10, 20, and 30 years).
Commendation recipients receive commemorative gifts (travel vouchers worth 30,000 yen for 5 years of service, 50,000 yen for 10 years, 150,000 yen for 20 years, and 300,000 yen for 30 years). Additionally, special leave is granted to employees who have been with the company for 20 years or more.

Overseas Employee Trip

In operation since 1981

Our company organizes an overseas trip every five years using the company’s reserve fund.
Although participation is not mandatory, about 80% of employees take part each time.

Lost Paid Leave Accumulation System

In operation since 1999

This system allows employees to accumulate up to 40 days, which can be used like regular paid holidays for recovery from injury or illness.
This system is designed to give employees peace of mind and allow them to focus on medical treatment in the event they are injured or become ill and need many days off.

Qualification Reward System

This system allows employees to receive examination fees and rewards from the company if they acquire company-designated qualifications or pass such examinations after joining. Rewards range from 5,000 yen to 70,000 yen.
The program is designed to support self-development and is not restricted by job category or whether the self-development is work-related.

Property Formation Deposit System

The system allows employees to automatically accumulate funds through salary deductions.
It helps employees build assets in preparation for future life events.

Employee Stock Ownership Program

In operation since 1991

This system pools contributions from enrolled employees, along with incentive payments for those contributions, into a stock ownership plan. Employees can then use the pooled funds to purchase and own ASAHI SHO-KO-SHA stock.
Employees receive a 5% incentive for salary contributions and a 10% incentive for bonus contributions.

Retirement Allowance System

This system provides retirement allowance to employees who have worked for the company for at least two years.

Health Checkup Subsidy System for Dependent Spouses

In operation since 1990

This system subsidizes the cost of medical checkups for dependent spouses.
Lifestyle-related disease checkup: Up to 7,000 yen / Complete medical checkup: Up to 15,000 yen is subsidized.

Housing Acquisition Subsidy Program

In operation since 1989

This system provides an interest subsidy (20% of the interest amount) on mortgage payments twice a year.
This system provides a 20% subsidy on the interest amount of a mortgage loan for up to 10 years (subject to various conditions).

Leave of Absence System

In operation since 1993

This system exempts employees who are unable to engage in their work duties while maintaining their employment relationship with the company.
This system allows employees to remain enrolled even if they no longer have paid vacation leave or pooled vacation leave under the Lost Paid Leave Accumulation System. The leave can still be used for medical treatment or other purposes.

Congratulations or Condolences Allowance Congratulatory Money for School Enrollment

In operation since 1999

Types of congratulatory and condolence allowances include those for weddings, childbirth, school enrollment (incl. kindergarten entrance), condolences for bereaved family member, injuries, illnesses, and disaster relief.

Childcare Support

Reduced working hour system and nursing care leave are available. The reduced working hour system is available for those with children from under 3 years old up to 3rd grade elementary school students.

Nursing Care Support

The statutory nursing care leave has been expanded from 5 to 10 days.

Influenza Vaccination Subsidies

In operation since 2019

The company provides subsidies for influenza vaccinations.
The fee is 1,000 yen per eligible person (including employees and their dependents).

Smoking Cessation Subsidies

In operation since 2019

As part of its health management initiative, the company subsidizes a portion of the cost of attending an outpatient smoking cessation clinic to help employees quit smoking. Medical and transportation expenses are covered up to a maximum of 20,000 yen.

Three Major Illness Insurance

In operation since 2022

To secure financial resources for ensuring the livelihood of employees, the company has joined an insurance plan for three major illnesses.
The insurance amount is a flat 500,000 yen.

Rehiring System
(Alumni Employment)

In operation since 2023

This system re-employs employees who have left the company for career advancement or due to unavoidable circumstances such as childcare or nursing care.

Compassionate Leave

In operation since 2022

This system grants up to three days per year as compassionate leave for health problems or medical treatment related to the employee, their spouse, children, or parents.

Company Housing Rental

In operation since 1999

Company housing is provided to employees who are assigned or transferred to a sales office to which it is not possible to commute from their home.
The company rents a property in its name and covers the initial cost, rent, and renewal fees. Single employees under 30 years old pay 5,000 yen for rent, while those over 30 years old pay 20% of the rent themselves.

Employee Referral System

In operation since 2023

The system provides a referral allowance to employees who join the company following a referral, as well as to the employees who made the referral.
The referral allowance is 300,000 yen per person and is paid in installments over three years.

Paid Leave in Hourly Increments

In operation since 2024

This system allows employees to take paid leave in one-hour increments in order to improve their work environment.
